Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to complete the course?

If you can put in an hour or two a day, you should be able to complete the course in about 6 to 8 weeks. If you can dedicate more time, you can finish in a shorter period.

Why does your course feature XHTML instead of HTML? What is the difference?

XHTML is the next generation of web page markup. For technical reasons outlined in the course, XHTML is the preferred standard on the web today. If you are new to web design and development, it is a much better investment of your time and money to learn XHTML than old fashioned HTML.

Can I ask questions of the instructor?

Yes. All email and forum questions are answered within 24 hours – usually much faster!

What is the difference between your course and other classes offered on the web?

Our online classes are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can study at your own pace and on your own schedule. Other courses require you attend at certain times. Also, our courses are constantly updated to insure that you are getting the very latest techniques and skills necessary to build today’s cutting edge web sites. Many of the other courses offered on the web have been around for years, and thus teach outmoded practices and depreciated code. Furthermore, with our courses you don’t just learn a few web design programs, you learn how to code by hand so you have a full understanding of the latest coding and design principals.

Are there any prerequisites?

No. All you need is a willingness to learn.

What software will I need? Will I have to buy extra software to take the course?

All the software tools you need to take our course are either already on your computer or available for free on the web. We recommend Adobe Photoshop for the web graphics portion of the course, but you can download a free 30-day trial if you don’t have it.

Do you offer a hard copy version of the course?

No. At this time the course is only available online. Please check our system requirements to see if you have everything you need.

Is the course available in any other languages besides English?

No. At this time the course is only available in English.

Are you an accredited school?

Though we are not accredited by a governing body, our classes meet the same rigid standard of excellence you would expect from any college level courses.

Testimonials

I loved this course!! CSS was a complete mystery to me until going through it step by step with instructor Steve Taylor. I now have a full grasp on both XHTML and CSS, and am starting to get the hang of JavaScript thanks to the introduction in Chapter 9. I highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning the code behind web design!
